Furry Visitors

My hubby and I went outside yesterday evening to water our plants in the garden. We noticed a cute little bunny eating grass in the yard right outside the carport. It was about 3 feet from the house, and barely flinched as my husband walked near it to take pictures. It's a very bold bunny, but his friend was more timid since he hopped near the cane fields. They aren't eating my plants but I only have cantaloupe and watermelon growing at the moment. They do the like the shade my fig tree offers them since I frequently see one sitting underneath it. I just thought it was so cute that I wanted to share the pictures we took. The rabbits are perfectly safe from us since we don't eat rabbit.

I live in a condo about 8 miles outside of downtown Charlotte, NC. There is a very small patch of woods behind my condo. A couple of years ago a baby rabbit was hopping down the sidewalk behind my unit. I ran inside to get some carrots. Poor baby didn't even know what to do with them. It wasn't afraid of me but no matter what I did it didn't want carrots. I finally got it to eat some lettuce. It's strange living this close to town, but I have rabbits, now and then, a hawk, 2 owls and tons of birds and squirrels that now take food from my hand.

I used to have a pet rabbit that I slept with until I got serious allergies and she was taken away from me.

What cute little bunnies! I love seeing little pieces of nature. We have lots of squirrels in my apartment complex and I always yell at my boyfriend when he drives to fast through out of concern for them. A couple mornings I've even seen some armadillo as well. Glad to hear they aren't eating your plants as well! :)

Well-meaning animal is a rabbit and you know that. I do not eat meat because I love animals a lot. I believe that many people, in this case, create a stew of rabbit.
