They send out runners underground and you will be trying to give them away too! ;-)<br /><br />As far as the cucumber vines, I think that is just a normal thing with them where they don't look healthy at the base. At least mine always seem to do that as well. They don't seem to have any trouble producing the cukes! Just remember to keep picking so they will keep producing, and that goes for most veggies.
