Today's thrifty tip is use the back of a used envelope or junk mail to write your shopping list. You are reusing a used item. Most envelopes are long enough to write a pretty long shopping list. You are saving money by using new paper and trees.
Haha! I do this all the time. Though I never considered it was a frugal-living idea. I just do it because I always have envelopes laying around in my kitchen from bills, or whatever. I always use evnelopes from greeting cards for this, and especially bills.
Like Laura, I do this all the time, but now I will make an effort. I never thought of it as saving a tree (or money) I mostly do it because I can never find a regular piece of paper. Thank you for bring this to my attention.
What I want to learn how to do is how to make my own recycled paper. Then I can take all that shredded junk mail and make more paper! That's a good TMR tip for crafty mamas at least, huh? :)
Thanks for the tip! I'm a writer, and I cut up excess paper to use as scratch or note paper. We're lucky here as well, we recycle "everything" and I send my paper there too!
LOL, I do this often. I thought I was just being lazy, but it looks like I was being frugal! Yay! LOL! This blog rocks, though, seriously. I love the short daily tips. Consider me a fan! :)
I use the front, the back and then tear it open and use the inside! LOL And it's great for holding the coupons you plan on using for that shopping trip!
Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this blog. It's simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it's very difficult to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say that you've done a excellent job with this. In addition, the blog loads very quick for me on Firefox. Outstanding Blog!

I do this, too! Mine is out of pure laziness of not wanting to find a piece of scratch paper. Great tip!
Believe it or not, my grandmother, who grew up in the great depression, made grocery lists on the back of used envelopes...guess that's where I picked it up from!
