Even with the recent drop in gas prices, many things are still expensive like heat. I am very fortunate not to live in a cold climate. I don't have to use my heat as often as many others. If you are trying to keep your heating costs down, then lower that thermostat and get cozy by using an
electric blanket to keep warm.

Great advice. We just got the electric blankets out last night.
Another good thing to do is keep warm comfy throws in the living room to toss on when watching TV.
I don't have one, but it does sound like a good idea! Hmm...something else to think about!
I use a small heating pad on my back. Seems to help a lot, and keep the heat at a more thrifty level.
I actually have a electric throw I use when I am watching tv.

Yeah that is great advice, I live in the NW cold. I recently invested in typing gloves that plug into a USB port and heat up just like an electric blanket.
I used to have an electric blanket and I liked it a lot. Unfortunately, it wore out and I didn't replace it.
We use electric blankets at our house too - luckily my hubby is like me in that we like it cool at night (so our thermostat, which is downstairs (and controls the furnace for all 3 floors) is set for 55, but computes to more like 65 upstairs...you know how heat rises and all that jazz!). I also have a feather bed on our mattress, as well as a feather comforter - so we turn on the electric blanket about 1/2 hour before we crawl into bed...toasty warm! But I usually turn them off for sleeping, because with all those feathers it can get too warm - I don't like to be too hot at night! :)
We got an electric blanket from Costco a couple of years ago. It's my favorite companion every night....besides, of course, my wife :)
We have had the electric blanket out for a month now. There is nothing worse than getting into an ice cold bed at night.
No way. Electric blankets are very bad for you. They surround your body with Electro magnetics that are unnatural and ultimately cause harm. Better to wear socks and a hat to bed. Remember the old days when they wore bedcaps? It wasn't for beauty. We must find ways to do things with less electricity not more.
